Questions

Takehouse says my PC can't make songs

Takehouse checks your graphics card when it starts, and each message says what's wrong:

See the requirements for video memory: 8 GB is the minimum and 12 GB is recommended.

Where are my songs saved?

In Music\Takehouse, one folder per song, unless you choose another folder in Settings › Songs. Each song keeps its lyrics, plans, every take and every redo version.

Why does Takehouse warn me about OneDrive?

Windows can move your Music folder into OneDrive. Songs saved there are uploaded to OneDrive, and takes are large: about 23 MB for each minute. Takehouse promises that your songs stay on your PC, so Settings › Songs warns you when the songs folder is inside OneDrive and lets you choose one outside it.

Do I need to download anything to make songs?

No. Takehouse and Takehouse Light include every model they need to make songs. The only downloads are optional local lyrics models (Settings › AI services & keys › Local model), and instead of those you can use any chat model you already have in GGUF format.

Why does the first song take longer?

Takehouse loads its models from disk for each job and unloads them afterwards, so your graphics card is free for other things. The first job after starting Windows reads the models from disk for the first time, which takes longer; later loads are quicker. On an RTX 3060 (12 GB), a one-minute song takes about 20 seconds once loaded.

What does Reproduce do?

Every take is saved as a recipe: the plan, the seeds, the exact model files and the settings. Reproduce sends the same recipe again and compares the result with the saved take. If they match byte for byte, it says the take is identical; if a model file has changed or is missing, it says which. If a take's audio file is lost, Reproduce rebuilds it.

How do I write lyrics with AI?

Add a key for an online AI service you have an account with in Settings › AI services & keys (each service has a "Get a key" link), then use Write lyrics with AI… next to the lyrics box. You pick the service and the model; any capable chat model can write lyrics. The music is still made on your PC. What is sent, and when, is in the privacy policy.

I pasted lyrics from somewhere else and the format is messy

Takehouse cleans pasted lyrics: headings such as "Verse 1:" become section tags, and stage directions move out of the words. For a messier sheet, Tidy with AI… labels each line and rebuilds the sheet from your own lines; it never rewrites your words.
